Since I bought my home over 2 years ago, I had all of my costume jewelry sitting in boxes... in the garage. I'd painfully dig through them and have to untangle the necklaces I wanted to wear. I thought a peg board would be a cheap and fun way to display the jewelry in my room.

How I Did It
I started with a white peg board because it felt like a blank canvas and felt it would absorb the spray paint better than the light brown peg board. I used painter's tape to create a mountain design. You can get really creative here! Don't hold back.
Next, I spray painted the peg board with rose gold and copper colors. I had some left over sparkly blue paint from another project so I definitely wanted to incorporate it into the design as well.
I let the spray paint dry overnight before I pulled off the painter's tape to reveal the mountain design. I was really excited to see how it would turn out.

The next step was to hang it on the wall in my room. I knew I needed space between the peg board and the wall so I could insert the hooks. I measured the space needed and found some of my empty Mac cosmetic sample jars was the perfect distance. I superglued the jars to the back corners (Yay, for recycling objects for a new purpose!). I made sure not to cover the holes in the corners so I could use them for the screws when I attach the board to the wall.
Once the peg board was attached, I added and arranged all my jewelry. I am very pleased with how it turned out and it's a fun addition to my space!
You could get even more creative than I did and add a frame or shelves. If you liked this post, please share it with your friends! If you tried it out, let me know how it went.
Keep creating!
